As a division of Retail Council of Canada (RCC), we strive to promote retail as a fulfilling and rewarding career through educational programs, scholarships and partnerships with post-secondary institutions offering retail programs across the country. Our efforts are focused on strengthening the industry by encouraging retail education, increasing career awareness and advancing professional designation programs.

Responding to the needs of the retail industry, Retail Council of Canada (RCC) established the Canadian Retail Institute (CRI), which is dedicated to strengthening the industry by encouraging retail education, increasing career awareness and developing certification and training programs to improve workforce skills.

Career Awareness
Retail is a dynamic industry! In order to get the word out, CRI attends career fairs, visits schools, and creates links with educators and employers to inform them about retail careers.

Scholarships
To encourage students to pursue higher education in retail, CRI has created the Retail as a Career Scholarship Program. Scholarships are open to anyone pursuing post-secondary studies in a retail or business-related program.

Certification and Training
As Canada's only professional designations for retail sales associates and first level managers, CRI certification and training programs are designed to ensure employers that their businesses will be supported by a winning and fully qualified in-store team, and to give employees a competitive advantage within the retail industry.
